What our family considers FUN!!

It feels like once you ave kids you settle into the "routine" the same things everyday....and they usually go in the exact same order everyday!!! That's what you do when you have kids, you keep them on a schedule so they know what to expect day to day or at least you do your best to try. When you decide to do something out of the norm it can be very exciting, and for us a day at the lake on our boat is just what we need sometimes :) Before we had kids we were on our boat at least twice a week during the summer, we put endless hours on our boat since we got it in 2006. That all came to a screeching halt when little Ashlee came along!! Even though her first boat ride was around 7 weeks old those days were far and few between. It just became to much work for us to get to the lake!! We even contemplated selling it at times but couldn't bring ourselves to do it, there are just too many memories in that boat for us.Yesterday we decided we have the day off...yeah we should do stuff around the house, help prepare for the baby, grocery shop..etc...but we decided to let all that go and head to the lake. We knew Ashlee has a love for this as much as we do :) all the way there "mommy daddy Ashlee's boat...fast" she said those words almost all the way there. Once we got there and got in the boat she told us she was soooo happy to be on the boat. She was an absolute perfect angel the entire time..laughing, smiling, yelling whoo-oo with me on the bow of the boat, it was an awesome day!!! We are so happy she loves the boat so much because this is one of most favorite things to do. This is the first time bringing her to the lake we felt she really enjoyed herself, it always felt like to much work up until this point!! Now hopefully Baby G will enjoy this boat as much as the 3 of us do!!!

When you consider 100 degree's to be cool

You know you live in AZ when you think 100 degree's is "cooling down" but when you have gone through more than 30 days of over 110 it really does feel great :) This has been one of the worst summers in AZ since I've lived here...being pregnant didn't help either!!! and maybe the fact I have a very active 2 year old who loves the outdoors and has to stay indoors, she would stand at the slider everyday and beg to go outside. "I'm sorry honey its too hot" I must say every single morning and evening. Thank goodness we were able to keep ourselves very busy this summer with lots of indoor stuff. I'm involved in a very active mom's group which has stuff going on everyday, we do Kindermusic once a week which Ashlee absolutely loves, many trips to the children's museum, libraries and aquariums. Now we can look forward to parks, the zoo (we can finally use our annual memberships) splash pads, and wagon rides around the neighborhood. My morning started out with my drinking my coffee and reading the paper on our patio while Ash played with her toys...we went to a splash pad and park in the later morning with our moms group and the kids had a blast running around and being outdoors. During the day we bathed the dogs while the hubby smoked some ribs and sausage, and during the evening we sat outside enjoyed some rain and cooler temperatures, and amazing food, it was a great day and evening for the Goddard family :)
Even though it did get to 100 degree's it was bearable and we were able to enjoy almost a day of being outdoors. Let's just hope these temperatures stay the same or get cooler...we are really looking forward to our favorite time of year..."Autumn" we have Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course the arrival of Baby G :)

HOME STRETCH.....THE 3RD TRIMESTER

Just when I thought this pregnancy couldn't be going any slower I get an email alert saying you are 28 weeks and starting your 3rd trimester....wow already I thought, and this little baby will be here before we all know it.
The honeymoon trimester is over and now I guess it's time to look forward to being uncomfortable, not sleeping well, back aches, and all the crazy things that happen to us women during pregnancy. So far I've been so lucky and have had a super easy pregnancy (knock on wood) Everything is going smoothly and I feel great! This baby is alot different from Ashlee, very active and never stops moving. Baby G's been head down for a while so I feel things way different...instead of the ribs killing me, my hips and pelvis hurt and I feel like I"m always in the bathroom.  I'm still able to work out in the gym and be very attentive to my extremely energetic 2 year old that keeps me on my feet all day. Thanks to her I haven't put on much baby weight :)
I finally found a great doctor....this will  be my 3rd one :-/ but all is good and I'm really happy with her. I didn't have a great doc the first time around so I was determined to find a good one this time. I found one who is totally supportive of my birth plan, and I'll tell you unless you go to a midwife it's really hard to find in a doctor. Unfortunately I have to drive about 40 minutes to see her, but in the end it will be worth it and I can visit my best buddy in Scottsdale all at the same time. I have hired the best doula and have my family's support on my decision and that is one of the most important things to me.
I have all the nursery items for Baby G, I just need to get motivated and get everything up, I am really not one to wait until the last minute and once I realized how quickly this baby will be here I got a little panicked and am on what my hubby calls" turbo mode" to get everything done. Having a baby coming around the holidays is a little crazy and requires a little more work because I want to make sure everything remains the same for Ashlee. I contemplated on even putting holiday decorations up because I thought it would just be too much work, but I can't do that to Ash..she loves all the lights and holiday decorations and so do I, it's my favorite time of year.
So next on the agenda for Baby G, I have my glucose test this week (not looking forward too) and next week we have our follow up ultrasound along with 3D pictures. I love getting to see the baby and it's great for Ash too I think it helps her to understand whats going on......how much her life is about to change..in a good way of course :)
